Cory Brewer - Physical Therapist Assistant

One of the most rewarding experiences has been watching a child gain confidence in a skill they once found very difficult.

When did you first know you wanted to pursue a career in therapy? I’ve always been drawn to helping people improve and feel their best. Growing up playing sports, I often found myself wanting to help injured teammates recover and get back to doing what they loved. That interest eventually led me toward a career in therapy, where I could support and encourage others every day.

Who inspires you in your profession? I’m inspired by the children and families I work with. Their resilience, determination, and excitement over even small accomplishments remind me why I love what I do. I’m also inspired by my coworkers who continually encourage growth and creativity in therapy.

What is your favorite way to engage with kids? My favorite way to engage with kids is through play and activities that make therapy fun. I enjoy finding creative ways to incorporate each child’s interests into sessions so they feel comfortable, motivated, and excited to participate.

Tell us about a challenge that you watched a child overcome? One of the most rewarding experiences has been watching a child gain confidence in a skill they once found very difficult. Seeing their hard work pay off and watching both the child and family celebrate those achievements is incredibly meaningful and reminds me why pediatric therapy is so rewarding.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work? Outside of work, I enjoy staying active, spending time with family and friends, watching sports, being outdoors, traveling, and trying new experiences whenever I can.
